Wedding Photographs
Weddings, in general, are nothing short of spectacular. This wedding was no different. I had met Leona about 2 years earlier, when she did a fantastic makeup on one of her brides in Warrenpoin. Leona is a Makeup Artist herself and has her own studio in Dundalk. Check this out, if in you are in the area. I was delighted to receive the call as Leona would have an idea of my personal approach and style at the weddings, which she liked.
When the time came, 30th of December 2017, I went up to Leona’s house first. On the arrival I could smell two things. Relaxed atmosphere. And smell of breakfast being made, as her Dad had been already pottering about in the kitchen to welcome the coming guests. I spent about 2-3 hours there, capturing all the little moments in between the Family members, And not to mention, the wedding dress, shoes, rings, flowers, any other props that would aa to the day. You would be surprised how important all these little details count. After an enjoyable morning, I then went to the church (St. Mary’s Church) itself. Groom had been already there so I could get some snaps of the pre-waiting atmosphere. And believe me, Exciting moments, I have to say. The chapel was slowly fillin up, so we waited another while for the Bride to arrive.
I need to say this, I am always amazed at the buzz up in the chapels, when the Groom is expecting the Bride. It’s simply beautiful and a lot emotions to go along with it. The ceremony itself was class. Stunning music up in the air. Warm words coming from the Priest and the Readers, to enhance the special moments. When the vowels were said and rings exchanged, the whole room was shaking with cheers and laughter. Especially on the account of sweet kiss of Leona and Daniel). I know, I know, it wasn’t just the lip gloss flavour;).
After the ceremony, time for some wishes from lovely Guests. Then straight to the hotel for some catch up, drinks and finger foods, for a nice start off. Carrickdale Hotel & Spa proved to be a perfect choice for the venue. Located in a hilly, picturesque spot, outside Ravensdale area, gave the Guests some sense of space. The room was beautifully decorated, with dim light adding to the ambience. Both, bar area and the restaurant were perfect.
Speeches! This is another great thing I truly enjoyed. Hillarious yet touching. These were great stories, I heard. God bless. When this was over, some colourful smoke started to appear. I knew then it was time for the band to rock the room. And they did indeed. Fabulous chants by Sugartown Road . Of course, we all had been waiting for this. Magical First Dance and then many first dances after;). Happy life together. Leona & Daniel;) Many great memories! Thank you for having me;). And see you soon.
