London… my dear London
It was one of those very memorable trips. The photographs somehow are going to be vivid forever and will remind me of the extraordinary city that London is. And it was, when I first went to the UK in 1995. 2025, 30years later didn’t disappoint, especially that I had a wonderful company!
You might think to yourself, it will not repeat istelf. You were in love once before and gave your heart away. Surprise! There is no limit to love of adventure and in return the cities continue to amaze me. I have to say, the city of London held me close, stopped me in my track. It slowed me down and made me reflect. It invited to its beauty and variety of the mixed architecture and richness of the views by the very river Thames. There is much to be seen and love about the city. Strolling through the busy streets, memories rushed back and it got me thinking of all the years in between. I often ponder.. what if … that kind of sliding doors effect! Listening to the daily sounds of the city, which I once called home, made me realise that London never sleeps! It reinvents itself with every new culture entering the air and leaving trails of its existence. It’s an open book with so many more stories to be written on the walls of the Romanesque and Gothic styles historic buildings , as well as the Baroque designs or showcasing Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian styles, modern and post-war architecture. It’s a modern hum intertwined with the ancient past! It was a wonderful trip! Revisiting, reconnecting, rewinding, recharging!
